Your therapist sets a teaching target โ€” one specific skill under an IEP goal, such as naming a cup or asking for help. Variobloom turns that target into short home practice: a personalised social story, a guided activity, a few minutes of play with a purpose. Your child practises the same skill at home that the therapist is working on in the room, and what happened comes back to the therapist. Skills that only appear in the therapy room are the ones that fade; the time between sessions is where they stick.

Every home practice is tied to a target your therapist set, so there is no busywork by design. What happened at home goes back to the therapist as evidence, next to the marks she records in session. The therapist โ€” not the app โ€” decides when a skill is mastered. You see a weekly report and a quarterly progress report, and nothing advances on its own.

Each practice lands on your therapist's data sheet under the target it belongs to, tagged as home practice so it is never mistaken for a mark she took herself. She records her own probes in session, and uses what happened at home as evidence that the skill carries over to a different person, place and material โ€” which is what generalisation means. If your child was upset, or said something concerning, she is alerted straight away.

One row per goal: whether it was Met, made Progress, stayed Stable or showed Insufficient Progress since the last quarter; what your child has mastered and what they are currently working on; a plain-language "what does it look like?" paragraph, drafted by AI and approved by your therapist; a progress score that says how far along each target is toward the level the therapist set; and a graph for each goal. It is written for parents โ€” a report that breaks our plain-language rules cannot be exported until the therapist fixes it.

Refusal is information, not failure. A practice can stop at any moment and nothing counts against your child. If they seem upset mid-practice, the lesson pauses and offers a choice โ€” talk about it, come back later, or carry on โ€” and openings and endings are the same every time, so a child who needs routine gets one. Your therapist sees what happened and can change the target, or how it is presented, before the next attempt.

AI does two things in Variobloom. It drafts โ€” SOAP notes, goal drafts, home practice content, the parent paragraphs of the progress report โ€” and a clinician approves anything clinical before it counts for anything. And it guides your child's practice at home, in the voice of Aria, our child-facing guide. You hold every switch: voice, camera, screen time, Friend Mode, and a PIN to leave child mode. Everything AI writes is labelled as such, safety alerts cannot be muted, and a lesson pauses when a child seems upset. Children sometimes grow fond of a friendly guide; that is fine, because the target came from your therapist and the result goes back to her โ€” the practice always points back to real people.

Variobloom is designed for children aged 2โ€“18, and we also support young adults up to 25 who are transitioning into independence. The lessons, vocabulary and tone adapt to the child's profile โ€” a 3-year-old non-verbal child and a 16-year-old with ADHD get completely different experiences.

Either works, and it depends on your child. For younger children or the first few practices, being present and supportive is often helpful, and the screen shows you small coaching hints โ€” a good moment to join in, or to wait. For older children and teens, privacy often improves engagement. You can read the full transcript afterwards.

The methodology stays yours. The studio works with the assessment you already run โ€” VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, EFL, ESDM or the Social Thinking rating scale โ€” and hangs IEP goals and teaching targets off it, with a daily data sheet: probes recorded at the opportunity with a prompt level, mastery criteria you set per target, maintenance re-probes at 7, 14 and 30 days. There is a simple AAC board for the child, not a specialist AAC system, and no Makaton. We do not ship a methodology of our own; we hold the data for the one you use.

Yes, and more than that: only your own probes count toward mastery. Home practice and Aria sessions are recorded on the target as generalisation evidence with a source tag โ€” they never satisfy a criterion. SOAP notes, goal drafts and the parent paragraphs of the progress report arrive as drafts for you to edit and approve; nothing unapproved reaches a report. A target moves from baseline to teaching to mastered to maintained on your marks, and marking a goal achieved is your decision. You remain the clinical decision-maker at all times.

The child-facing chat has a safety layer. If a child's language matches patterns associated with distress, abuse disclosure or safety risk, a SAFETY alert goes to the assigned clinician and the parent account โ€” those alerts cannot be muted by any preference. The child receives a calm, validating, non-leading response and the session winds down gently rather than ending abruptly. Flagged sessions are retained in full and are exportable for safeguarding records.

Variobloom is a young company and we do not yet have independent RCT data on our specific platform. However, every component is grounded in published research: ABA efficacy (Cooper, Heron & Heward), VB-MAPP validity (Sundberg, 2008), AAC effectiveness in minimally-verbal autism (Ganz et al., 2012), and AI-assisted social skills training (Golan et al., 2010). We are actively planning a clinical validation study with our academic advisors. We will always be transparent about what is proven vs what is evidence-informed.

Variobloom is built for India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. The parent owns the child's record โ€” a school enrols a child by inviting the parent, and nothing is processed until the parent accepts. Consent is versioned, with a history the parent can read, and it can be withdrawn. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit, export and deletion are available from the parent portal, and no child data is used to train AI models. Clinicians and supervisors see only the children whose parents have linked them.

Yes. Variobloom runs in any modern browser โ€” Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox โ€” with nothing to install, so a school-issued Chromebook or tablet works as it is.
