Everything we enforce, and how.

Every claim here is something the product does, not a line in a policy.

Safe for children

Variobloom keeps a human in charge.

“Is an AI safe for my child?” is the right question, and the one we designed for first. A parent holds the switches, a clinician signs the record, and every guardrail here is enforced in the product — the same standard as everything else on this page.

How we use AI, in plain language →
  • A lesson pauses when a child seems upset

When a child seems upset, Variobloom stops the lesson and offers a check-in — talk about it, take a break, or keep going. You see the pattern over time, not just a transcript.

  • Safety alerts cannot be muted

If a session raises a safety concern, you're told immediately — in the app, by email and by push. It's the one notification category no setting can silence.

  • Sessions wind down, then end

Conversations have a built-in wind-down and a hard stop. You set the daily screen-time limit, a per-session cap and a school-day mode — and the product enforces them, even if a child asks nicely.

  • The camera stays off

Anything that uses the camera runs only after you turn it on, and that decision is recorded in your consent history. Off means off.

  • Parents hold the switches

Voice, sounds and Friend Mode are set by you on your child's profile — not by the child on the device. Leaving child mode can be locked behind your PIN.

  • AI is labelled, people sign off

Everything the AI writes is marked as AI. Clinical notes stay drafts until a clinician co-signs them, mastery is only ever a clinician’s call, and your weekly report shows you its real review status.

Trust & privacy

Privacy you can verify, not just read about.

A child's record is the most sensitive data a school will ever hold. Every claim on this page is something the product enforces, not a line in a policy.

  • Consent you can prove

Every consent is versioned, revocable and enforced. Withdraw it and the data stops flowing — the record of that decision survives even account deletion.

  • A log the parent can read

If a school supervisor opens a child’s record, the parent can see when. Treating clinicians and supervisors are logged separately, forever.

  • Your data, on request

One-click export of everything we hold, a 30-day undo on deletion, and erasure that reaches every table — not just the profile.

  • Clinical-grade data protection

Names and clinical text are encrypted in the database, not just on the wire.

  • AI that discloses itself

Every AI-drafted note carries a badge. Nothing AI wrote reaches a parent without a clinician’s sign-off.

  • Someone to write to

A named grievance officer, a 72-hour breach runbook, and a privacy policy in plain language.
